Reading Police and EMS responded to the report of a shooting Sunday, approximately 6:30 PM, at the 3rd and Spruce Recreation Center in the 300 block of South 3rd Street. Initially described as a 10 year-old male shot in the leg that was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle. Reading Police have closed the 800 block of Franklin Street due to an active police incident. The Berks County Emergency Response Team is on scene. Officers were heard using a loudspeaker to announce they had a warrant and order an individual inside the building to exit. After several loud bangs were heard, police entered the building.
