Reading: Shooting

UPDATE: Reading Police say the victim has died. Police say the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing.

Reading Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Amir Steele and say video footage shows an altercation before the shooting involving a person of interest who has been located and is cooperating with investigators.

Original post: Police and EMS were dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue B, the Glenside section of Reading, Thursday around 4 PM, for the report of a shooting, initially described as a male shot in the chest. According to emergency dispatch reports, one person was transported to the hospital for treatment. This post will be updated as additional information becomes available from authorities.
