One last look. Tonight is the final night the Reading Pagoda will be lit before going dark for renovations. Crews are beginning major upgrades to the building’s electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with scaffolding already up around the structure.
The Pagoda will remain dark for about five to six months. If all goes as planned, the lights will return by October—just in time to continue the beloved tradition of blinking the Pagoda on Christmas Eve.
The site is now an active construction zone. Visitors are urged to drive with caution and respect all posted safety restrictions.
