After nearly three decades of planning, South Heidelberg Township officially broke ground Wednesday on the Krick Lane Extension Project. The long-awaited improvement will connect Krick Lane to Wernersville Road, add turn lanes and a new traffic signal at Lincoln Drive, and help address longstanding traffic congestion and safety concerns.
State and county officials joined township leaders for the ceremony, celebrating a project supported by $1.5 million in state grants and a $1 million infrastructure loan through Berks IDA. Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with completion anticipated in 2027.
