Hawk Mountain Sanctuary announced plans on October 15, 2026, to replace its aging visitor center in Albany Township, Berks County, with a new Visitor Center and Center for Global Raptor Conservation.

The $13 million project will feature a larger, fully accessible building with new exhibits, expanded educational spaces, and environmentally sustainable design features. The sanctuary has raised $10 million toward its fundraising goal.

During the press conference, Sanctuary President Sean Grace, State Rep. Jamie Barton, and Board Chair Beth Hucker discussed the project, its impact on visitors, and the organization's conservation work around the world.

Demolition is expected to begin in spring 2027, with the new facility anticipated to open in fall 2028. Hawk Mountain will remain open throughout construction.
