Homes of Grace
A new shared housing project taking shape in Sinking Spring aims to provide a more affordable housing option for seniors and veterans while creating a supportive community for residents. Homes of Grace co-owners April Crossley and Lura Bare are developing their first shared housing property in Berks County, with rents planned at about 30% below fair market rates and utilities included. The pair also established the Shared Housing Support Foundation to help residents overcome financial barriers to housing. The organization hopes the Sinking Spring home can eventually serve as a model for additional shared housing properties across Berks County.
