Fireworks Demo
Ahead of the 4th of July, Reading officials held a live demonstration showing how quickly a consumer firework can ignite common household materials, reminding residents that fireworks are prohibited within the City of Reading. Mayor Eddie Morán, Fire Marshal Jeremy Searfoss and the Reading Police Department Bomb Squad urged residents to leave fireworks to the professionals, follow safety precautions and help prevent injuries, fires and property damage during the holiday weekend.
