A new beginning in Reading
Habitat for Humanity of Berks County dedicated a newly rehabilitated home on Douglass Street Tuesday, welcoming Guadalupe and her family as the newest homeowners. The project brought together volunteers, local leaders, and students from the Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center, who helped transform the once-vacant property into a place to call home. Guadalupe completed more than 200 hours of sweat equity and homeownership training to earn the opportunity, a milestone celebrated by community members who say the project represents more than just one home, but a shared investment in Reading’s future.
