Rocky Conrad has spent much of his life at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading — first growing up there while his father served as grounds foreman, and now as assistant superintendent. For the past 24 years, he has helped care for the 120-acre property and support families who visit the historic grounds. In 2025, the cemetery was designated a National Level I Arboretum, recognizing its impressive urban forest. Conrad, who also teaches bonsai classes locally, continues to share his passion for trees and the community. Photo courtesy of Mark McLaughlin.
