Welcome to Reading Sign
Crews installed Reading’s new welcome sign on Wednesday at the cloverleaf of Route 422 and Penn Avenue in West Reading. The installation replaces the previous sign that was destroyed in July 2023 when a vehicle crashed into it. That sign, which paid tribute to the Reading Railroad with its signature green and yellow design, was later removed following the accident. The new sign features a bold “Welcome to Reading” message alongside an image of the city’s iconic Pagoda and steam locomotive.
