West Reading French Fry Fest
Crowds are filling Penn Avenue this afternoon for the 7th Annual West Reading French Fry Fest, where local restaurants and vendors are serving up their own spin on one of America’s favorite foods. The event has expanded to the 600 and 700 blocks of Penn Avenue, closed to traffic for the day to welcome the growing festival. Admission is free, and visitors are paying as they go to sample a wide variety of fries from vendors along the avenue. Organizers say the festival continues to grow each year, drawing big summer crowds to West Reading.
