Getting a flu vaccine will be more convenient this fall, with special “Walk-In Days” offered throughout October at two Reading Hospital-Tower Health pharmacies in Berks and Montgomery counties. No appointment is needed.
Flu vaccination can reduce the risk of getting sick and help protect those who are most vulnerable to serious complications from flu. Community members can stop in during the designated Walk-In Days to get vaccinated and help reduce the spread of flu this season.
Reading Hospital 7th Avenue Pharmacy in Berks County will offer “Walk-In Wednesdays” on Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28, and Reading Hospital Limerick Pharmacy in Montgomery County will offer “Walk-In Mondays” on Oct. 12, 19 and 26.
Community members and Reading Hospital-Tower Health patients can visit either pharmacy between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the designated dates to receive a flu vaccine without an appointment. Flu vaccines are covered at no cost by most insurance plans, although restrictions may apply.
Reading Hospital 7th Avenue Pharmacy, located in the Doctor’s Office Building, Suite 145, 301 S. 7th Ave., West Reading, and Reading Hospital Limerick Pharmacy, located at 420 W. Linfield Trappe Road, Building 100, Suite 1500, Limerick, also offer a variety of vaccinations and over-the-counter medications. Other vaccines are available upon request, with age and vaccine eligibility requirements subject to change.
Pharmacy staff at both locations are available to answer questions. Those who prefer to schedule a flu shot appointment or other vaccination can log in to MyTowerHealth at TowerHealth.org/MTH or call 484-659-6380.
Tower Health employees are encouraged to receive their annual flu vaccine through Employee Health. Spouses and children of Tower Health employees are welcome to use the pharmacy vaccination services.
