Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 9/24/2026, Southern Side Kitchen, located at 10 Summit Ave., Reading, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Plumbing system not maintained in good repair as observed by leaking pipe at the hand wash sink in the rear prep area.
On 9/24/2026, Hipoke Ramen, located at 520 E. Lancaster Ave., Reading, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Time in lieu of temperature being used in the food facility to control ready to eat potentially hazardous food (sushi rice) without written procedures or documentation to verify disposition of food within 4 hours of preparation. Soap was not available at the hand wash sink in the counter area. PIC replenished soap dispenser.
On 9/24/2026, 7-Eleven Store #45804A, located at 1028 Ben Franklin Hwy., Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violation: Mop sink is dirty and appears to have some deterioration. Self-serve soda machine is leaking water. Owner is waiting for a new unit to be installed.
On 9/24/2026, 562 Mini Market, located at 7947 Boyertown Pike, Boyertown, PA 19512, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed bottle and canned beverages being stored directly on the floor in the walk-in-cooler and the reduced sale display area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required.
On 9/25/2026, Union Jacks on the Manatawny, located at 546 Manatawny Rd., Boyertown, PA 19512, was inspected and found with the following violation: Mechanical warewashing equipment does not have a manufacturer data plate with operation specifications. Observed the mechanical ware wash equipment’s temperature measuring device for each wash and rinse tank and the hot water sanitizing final rinse manifold or chemical sanitizing tank was not operating.
On 9/25/2026, The Other Farm and Forge, located at 128 E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512, was inspected and found with the following violation: Commercially processed refrigerated, ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food, located in the downstairs walk-in-cooler, and held more than 24 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened. Various refrigerated, ready to eat time temperature control for safety foods in the Bain Maries and refrigerators in the cookline and storage area, was date-marked by the facility, but was beyond the 7 day use or sell by date and requires discarding. Observed the inside of the refrigerators, Bain Maries, and freezers throughout the facility had an accumulation dirt and food residue.
On 9/25/2026, Nino and Sons Pizza, located at 301 N. 13th St., Reading, PA 19601, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food in the walk in refrigerator area stored open with no covering.
On 9/25/2026, Little Italia Pizzeria, located at 1665 State Hill Rd., Wyomissing, PA 19610, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Deflector in the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected.
On 9/25/2026, Cousin’s Pub & Company, located at 1360 Pottsville Pike, Shoemakersville, PA 19555, was inspected and found with the following violation: Thermometers for ensuring proper temperature of equipment are not available or readily accessible in the Pepsi refrigerator and the 2-door refrigeration unit at the cooking line. Corrected. Food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired and is no longer valid. The food facility still does not have a handwash sink located in the kitchen area. Sink was removed because it was falling off the wall and has not been reinstalled. Discussed options for the location of a handwash sink in the kitchen. Loose rubber door gasket observed on the right-hand door of the 3-door bain marie unit. Working containers (spray bottles) in the kitchen area, used for storing chemicals, cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. Corrected.
On 9/26/2026, V & S Sandwich Shop North Inc., located at 4447 5th Street Hwy., Temple, PA 19560, was inspected and found with the following violation: Chili observed thawing at room temperature, which is not an approved thawing method. Reheated to hot temperature while temperature <41 degrees F. On 9/26/2026, Navas El Mercadito, LLC, located at 5369 Allentown Pike, Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food was held at 45°F, in the #2 bain marie area, rather than 41°F or below as required. On 9/26/2026, LBS-N-OZS, LLC, located at 2934 N. 5th Street Hwy., Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed no chemical sanitizer being used on equipment and utensils after washing and rinsing them, and prior to use. Unwrapped and unprotected single use coffee stirrers stored in the customer area. On 9/26/2026, Csencsits Nuts, located at 2934 N. 5th Street Hwy., Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Stored bulk food container exteriors with "nut dust" present from assorted snack/nut items sold at the business. On 9/27/2026, La Chona Mexican Food, located at 2830 N. 5th Street Hwy., Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violations: Observed between equipment (sides), in cook's area, with an accumulation of grease and food residue (a non-food contact surface). Observed lower shelf of grill with protective peel off plastic not removed. Remove to allow for proper cleaning of shelf. Floor soiled underneath/between cook's equipment. Exhaust hood filters soiled with grease. Manager reports service is scheduled prior to month end for cleaning. Popcorn was held at 127.2 °F, in the display area, rather than 135°F or above as required. On 9/29/2026, On the Hook Fish & Chips / CCHD #1563, located at 3805 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606, was inspected and found with the following violation: Quaternary ammonium sanitizer was diluted to the unsafe concentration of greater than 500ppm. Sanitizer was further diluted to 400ppm while EHS was onsite. Ensure sanitizer is between 200-400ppm daily. Exit door located in the kitchen area of the food facility has a door frame that is deteriorated creating a gap at the bottom, left-hand side. This door does not protect against the entry of pests.
