Berks County native and television personality Wanda Colón Hart will bring LoveNotes back to Reading for a second year, with this year’s production featuring a new scholarship and an opportunity for one couple to become engaged on stage.
LoveNotes Berks 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. at the Miller Center for the Arts in Reading. A VIP reception will be held from 6 to 7:15 p.m. ahead of the performance.
Created by Heather Christie, LoveNotes is a theatrical production centered on true stories about love in its various forms. Local and visiting performers share personal stories ranging from humorous to poignant, accompanied by live musical performances.
Colón Hart, a Berks County native, spent nearly two decades in Los Angeles working in television, design and the arts. She hosted HGTV’s “24 Hour Design” for four seasons and TLC’s “Home Made Simple” for six seasons. Her career has also included work as an actress, artist, designer and educator, along with national partnerships with brands including Lowe’s and Febreze.
After performing Off-Broadway in LoveNotes in New York City in February 2024, Colón Hart decided to bring the production to Berks County. The first local production was held in 2025.
“Berks County is where my story began,” Colón Hart said. “After years of living and working in Los Angeles and having the opportunity to perform LoveNotes in New York, I wanted to bring that experience back to the community that shaped me. What makes it even more meaningful is that LoveNotes has now become more than a show. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our community, give back and maybe even change someone’s life.”
New scholarship to benefit RACC student
New to this year’s production is the Wanda Colón Hart LoveNotes Scholarship, which will benefit a non-traditional female student at Reading Area Community College.
Funding for the scholarship will come from the production, with $1 from every ticket sold and 15% of sponsorship proceeds designated for the scholarship.
“I especially wanted to support a non-traditional female student because so many women put their own dreams on hold while life happens,” Colón Hart said. “Sometimes all someone needs is an opportunity—and someone who believes their next chapter matters.”
Couple could become engaged on stage
LoveNotes Berks is also introducing what organizers are calling The Ultimate LoveNotes Proposal.
One selected couple will receive a romantic experience culminating in a live marriage proposal on the Miller Center stage during the Oct. 17 performance, which falls on Sweetest Day.
The experience will include roses, dinner for two, two VIP tickets, admission to the pre-show VIP reception and the opportunity to propose during the performance.
“It doesn’t get much more LoveNotes than that,” Colón Hart said. “We tell stories about love all evening—and this year, we may actually get to witness the beginning of someone’s next love story.”
VIP tickets for LoveNotes Berks 2026 are $65, while general admission tickets are $45. Tickets are available through the Miller Center for the Arts.
