Grease trap leaking on basement floor: Restaurant Inspections, Sept. 10, 2026

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has posted an updated list of recent Retail Food Inspection Reports for restaurants and food handlers in Berks County. Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 9/3/2026, Ugly Dutch LLC, located at 19 S. 5th St., Reading, PA 19602, was inspected and found with the following violation: Raw Food (potatoes and onions) in the basement area stored open with no covering. Grease trap was leaking on basement floor. Observed boxed food stored directly on the floor in basement storage area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required.

On 9/3/2026, QBAN Cabana TFS3 @ Karnival of the Arts, located at 83 Community Center Dr., Kempton, PA 19529, was inspected and found with the following violation: An open employee’s beverage container was observed in a food preparation area. Corrected. Food employees observed in food area not wearing proper hair restraints such as nets or hats. Corrected.

On 9/3/2026, Memos MFF/TF3-NJ-W26TBS, located at 83 Community Center Dr., Kempton, PA 19529, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required.

On 9/4/2026, International Bar & Grill, located at 400 Schuylkill Ave., Reading, PA 19601, was inspected and found with the following violations: Several raw animal foods were stored above ready to eat foods in the refrigerator. Food in the refrigerator area stored open with no covering. Cheese and meats were held above 41 degrees, due to refrigerator stopped functioning over days not open in the rear refrigerator, rather than 41°F or below as required. food was thrown out. The handwash sink located in the back patio area does not have water at a temperature of at least 100°F. (71).

On 9/8/2026, Star City Diner and Pizza Parlor, located at 600 Shoemaker Ave., Shoemakersville, PA 19555, was inspected and found with the following violation: Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in cooler and refrigerator at the cookline, is not being date marked. Corrected. Food Employee observed eating or tasting food in the cookline area. Corrected.
