Reading Pagoda to reopen for public tours during fall soft launch

August 31, 2026 - 08:28 PM - Berks Weekly

The Reading Pagoda will soon welcome visitors inside for a series of public tours as the landmark moves closer to resuming full operations.

The Foundation for the Reading Pagoda announced four dates in September and October for a soft launch of the renovated building. Visitors will have an opportunity to walk through the Pagoda, learn about its history and hear about plans for full operations beginning in 2027.

The soft-launch dates are Sunday, Sept. 6; Saturday, Sept. 19; Sunday, Oct. 4; and Saturday, Oct. 24. The Sept. 6 event is already sold out.

Admission will be limited to ticketed time slots to comply with the building’s capacity requirements.

Tickets for each date will be released on a staggered schedule. Tickets for Sept. 19 will become available Sept. 7, followed by tickets for Oct. 4 on Sept. 20 and tickets for Oct. 24 on Oct. 5.

Tickets and additional information are available at readingpagoda.com/visit.

The soft launch marks a significant step toward reopening the landmark following renovation work and an extended closure. The Foundation said the fall events will also give visitors a preview of its plans for the Pagoda’s final operations beginning in 2027.

Located atop Mount Penn overlooking the City of Reading, the Pagoda is one of Berks County’s most recognizable landmarks.
