One person was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning in Reading, according to city police.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 1400 block of North 5th Street at approximately 3:40 a.m. Sunday for a reported shooting. Initial emergency dispatch information indicated a male had been shot after a vehicle drove by the area.
Paramedics later reported the victim was deceased.
In an update Sunday afternoon, the Reading Police Department confirmed the incident and said there was one victim.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no additional information was being released at this time.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Police said they will provide additional information as the investigation progresses.
