West Reading police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a motorcyclist who allegedly fled from officers during a traffic stop attempt last month.

According to the West Reading Police Department, officers attempted to stop a blue and black motorcycle for careless driving at approximately 7 p.m. on May 27 in the 500 block of Penn Avenue.

Police said the motorcycle, described as a Yamaha naked-style sport bike, did not stop and instead fled the area.

The driver was described as a thin male with short black hair, a black mustache and beard, and tattoos on his left arm and left leg.

The incident is being investigated as a fleeing and eluding case. The department listed the case as an active criminal investigation under reference number 38-26-05437.
