Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 5/29/2026, Panera Bread #742, located at 2733 Paper Mill Rd, Wyomissing, PA 19610, was inspected and found with the following violation: There is a build-up of dirt and trash on the floor under some of the equipment in the front food preparation area.
On 5/29/2026, Oley Inn on Main, located at 401 Main St, Oley, PA 19547, was inspected and found with the following violation: Mashed potatoes, which were cooled, were not reheated to 165°F for 15 seconds before being placed in the steam table as required. Corrected immediately. The interior of the ice machine at the bar, a food contact surface, was observed to have some residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected.
On 5/29/2026, Gulf Station, Oley, located at 1141 Memorial Hwy, Oley, PA 19547, was inspected and found with the following violation: Ice bagged in facility does not have the facility information on bag. Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in the small refrigerator holding milk for the brewed coffee area. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.
On 5/29/2026, Food Shop, located at 1200 Columbia Ave, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, was inspected and found with the following violation: Chocolate milk 2- 16oz., 2- quarts and a half gallon were dated with 5/28/26 and still for sale in the cooler. Corrected.
On 5/30/2026, Stoltzfus Soft Pretzels, located at 2934 N 5th Street Hwy, Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food dispensing utensils in cinnamon sugar, occidental flour, white sugar and whole wheat flour observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food. Food employees observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Food containers in the Beverage Air refrigerator and under counter refrigerators stored open with no covering. Exposed food preparation observed under dusty overhead ceiling vent and exhaust hood, and subject to potential contamination. Observed wet wiping cloths in prep areas, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the refrigerators, is not being date marked.
On 5/30/2026, Restaurante Salvadoreño El Roble, located at 2934 N 5th Street, Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: An open employee’s beverage container was observed in prep area, a food preparation area. Multiple foods were held at >41°F in the walk-in refrigerator, rather than 41°F or below as required. Observed wet wiping cloths in prep area, not being stored in sanitizer solution.
On 5/30/2026, Cross Roads Family Restaurant, located at 4643 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food dispensing utensil in bulk food bins observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food. Corrected on inspection. Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the walk-in refrigerator is not being date marked. Food held at >41°F, in the bain marie (cook’s area), rather than 41°F or below as required. Several wooden handled utensils in baker’s drawer requiring replacement with plastic handled utensils.
On 6/1/2026, On The Hook Fish & Chips / CCHD #1563, located at 3805 Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA 19606, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed knives stored between table edges. If knives are not for use with food, label accordingly. If knives are used with food, store elsewhere and in a sanitary manner. Sanitizer and sanitizer test strips were not available during opening inspection. Facility may not open until test strips and sanitizer are supplied to truck. Send pictures prior to opening. Facility must post an original, CCHD CFM certificate within 90 days of opening.
On 6/1/2026, Morgantown Diner, located at 101 Moreview Blvd, Morgantown, PA 19543, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed fruit flies in the area by the mop sink, the dry storage area and by the packaged bread storage. Observed wet wiping cloths in the front area, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Observed the mop sink and drain to at ware washing to have a buildup of old food residue and trash.
On 6/2/2026, West Reading Motor Club, located at 416 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, was inspected and found with the following violation: Large back door located in the first-floor kitchen area of the food facility has a gap at the bottom and does not protect against the entry of pests. Food ingredient storage containers, in the second floor kitchen area, are not labeled with the common name of the food. Dispensing utensils for some of the dry goods stored in the second-floor kitchen are plastic containers and not a utensil with a handle. The deflectors in both of the ice machines, food contact surfaces, were observed to have residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Facility will clean these today.
On 6/2/2026, A Plus Sunoco 40214H (7-Eleven), located at 624 N Park Rd, Wyomissing, PA 19610, was inspected and found with the following violation: The ice chute at the soda unit, a food contact surface, was observed to have residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Manager contacted someone about service for this piece of equipment and it was cleaned during this inspection.
On 6/3/2026, Grumpy Grouper & Callow Hill Farm Store, located at 5764 Pottsville Pike, Leesport, PA 19533, was inspected and found with the following violation: The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view.
