The Camel Project will host ChalkPalooza on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the RACC parking lot, 30 South Front Street, Reading, PA.
ChalkPalooza is a free, family-friendly community event that brings children, families, schools, organizations, and local partners together through sidewalk chalk art, creative expression, music, activities, and connection. The event is designed to raise awareness around bullying prevention, suicide prevention, youth violence prevention, and the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces for all kids.
“All our kids deserve adults who show up before pain turns into a crisis,” said Pamela Gockley, Founder and Executive Director of The Camel Project. “ChalkPalooza gives families a joyful way to come together while also supporting prevention work that helps interrupt bullying behaviors, emotional escalation, and violence before harm happens.”
The event will include chalk art, face painting, arts and crafts, games, community vendors, food, entertainment, and family activities. All proceeds from ChalkPalooza benefit The Camel Project’s local youth and adult programs focused on ending bullying behaviors, reducing conflict, and preventing gun violence through education, emotional regulation, trauma-informed awareness, and de-escalation training.
The Camel Project is a Reading-based nonprofit organization working to change the culture of bullying and unacceptable behaviors that lead to violence, trauma, and abuse. Through school-based programming, professional training, community outreach, and prevention-focused education, The Camel Project helps adults and youth recognize behavior as communication and respond before conflict escalates.
Community members, families, businesses, schools, and organizations are encouraged to attend, participate, and support the mission.
