A 13-year-old boy was injured Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in the city, according to the Reading Police Department.
The incident occurred around 8:17 a.m. on April 24 at the intersection of North Front and Windsor streets. Police said patrol officers and Reading EMS responded to the scene for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located the juvenile male with injuries. He was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to police, a privately recorded dashcam video that has since circulated on social media shows a black Nissan sedan striking the juvenile before fleeing the scene eastbound on Windsor Street without stopping to render aid.
The incident remains under investigation, and officers are continuing to follow up on leads.
