South Heidelberg Township police, working alongside the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted a series of high-visibility aggressive driving enforcement details on April 14 aimed at improving roadway safety in the area.
According to the South Heidelberg Township Police Department, the first detail began at approximately 7:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of Fritztown Road in South Heidelberg Township. During that operation, officers stopped eight vehicles for various violations, including speeding.
Enforcement efforts continued later in the day with a second detail beginning at 3:30 p.m. Officers from South Heidelberg Township, along with a Pennsylvania State Trooper, conducted a two-and-a-half-hour operation targeting aggressive driving along South 2nd Street at Brickplant Road in Heidelberg Township. That effort resulted in six additional vehicle stops for speeding and other safety-related infractions.
Police said the enforcement details are part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program and are funded through PennDOT using federal funds provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Officials said the department will continue targeted enforcement efforts as part of its commitment to improving safety for residents and commuters.
