In Tilden Township, sweeping operations will take place on PA 61 between the Schuylkill County line and Cross Keys Road. Work will be performed by PennDOT maintenance forces from April 13 through April 17, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. A daytime lane restriction will be in place as the operation moves along the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the work zone. Rain may cause delays.
In Reading and Cumru Township, bridge repair work is scheduled on US 422 between Penn Street and Interstate 176. Crews will work at various locations from April 13 through April 16, with lane restrictions in place in both directions. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 a.m. daily. Drivers are advised to expect delays and proceed with caution. Rain may also impact the schedule.
In District Township, drainage work will be conducted on Forgedale Road between Landis Store Road and Conrad Road. The project will run from April 13 through April 17, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., with a daytime lane restriction in effect. Motorists should anticipate delays and drive carefully through the work zone. Rain may cause delays.
On Interstate 176, long-term construction will continue in both directions near Mile Marker 4.6, with shoulder closures in place 24 hours a day through the duration of the work.
On Route 222, ongoing construction between Long Lane will result in lane closures and periodic traffic disruptions. Daytime work is typically scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. expected on multiple days throughout the week.
Motorists traveling on Route 183 to Route 61 should also be aware of overhead utility work, which will involve rolling slowdowns and traffic stops during overnight hours from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Bridge repair work on US 422 between Penn Avenue and Interstate 176 will continue during daytime hours, generally from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lane closures in place.
On Interstate 78, median gate repair work will take place eastbound near Exit 35 and westbound near Exit 40 on April 15 and April 16. Lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. during these operations.
Additional work includes roadway sensor installation on Interstate 78 westbound between Exit 35 and Exit 30 on April 20, with lane closures expected overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Drivers should expect delays in all listed work zones and are advised to use caution when traveling through active construction areas. PennDOT notes that weather conditions, including rain, may impact the schedule.
