The Berks County Conservation District will host its 5th Annual Conservation Celebration on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berks County 4-H Grounds on County Welfare Road.

The free, rain-or-shine event is designed to offer educational and interactive activities focused on conservation, gardening, and environmental stewardship for families across the community.

This year’s celebration will once again be held in conjunction with the Master Gardeners Plant Sale, giving attendees the opportunity to shop for plants while participating in the day’s activities.

Organizers say the event will feature live music performed by Golden Twine and line dancing with Boot Scootin Becky. Other attractions will include a rain barrel auction, a visit from Smokey Bear, educational displays from the Berks and Schuylkill County Beekeeper Association, a Touch-a-Truck experience, and a Kids’ Corner with activities for children.

Mini workshops will also take place throughout the morning, covering topics such as worm composting and container gardening.

Food will be available from Schaeffer Catering for attendees who want to grab a bite while enjoying the music and activities.

According to the Berks County Conservation District, the Conservation Celebration aims to provide free family fun while highlighting the importance of conservation and environmental awareness in the community.
