The Berks County Workforce Development Board, a department of the County of Berks, has been awarded a $200,000 Veterans’ Employment Grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry to expand employment and training services for veterans and their spouses.
The funding will enhance programming at PA CareerLink Berks County, strengthening the county’s ability to connect veterans and their families with sustainable employment opportunities. Through the Veterans Employment Assistance Program, the Workforce Development Board will focus on targeted outreach, barrier reduction, and partnership-driven supports designed to empower veterans as they transition to or advance within the civilian workforce.
The initiative will utilize data-informed strategies and coordinate with community partners providing housing, food security, and mental health resources to ensure veterans and their spouses have comprehensive support. By addressing both employment needs and external barriers, the program seeks to promote long-term stability and equitable access to economic opportunity.
