Reading School District announces Leanne Eckenrode as School Administrator of the Year

Reading School District has announced that Leanne Eckenrode has been named School Administrator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of School Social Work Personnel (PASSWP).

This prestigious statewide award honors exemplary leaders who set the standard for excellence in supporting school social workers and home and school visitors. Leanne embodies these qualities every day—fostering collaboration, advocating for the vital role of school social work, and helping to build school environments where students and families feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Ideal nominees for this award demonstrate visionary leadership, a deep commitment to SSWs and HSVs, and a willingness to champion innovative approaches that strengthen entire school communities. Leanne represents all of this and more. Her dedication continues to positively impact students, families, and staff across the district.

Superintendent Dr. Khalid N. Mumin praised Leanne for the achievement, stating: “We are incredibly proud of Leanne and the passion, professionalism, and heart she brings to our district each day. Her leadership uplifts our social workers, our families, and our entire community. This recognition by PASSWP is well-deserved and speaks to the essential role our social services team plays in supporting the whole child and strengthening the Reading School District.”
