A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon in Spring Township.

According to police, officers were dispatched around 4:45 p.m. on June 5 to the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, located at Cloister Court and Revere Boulevard, for a reported robbery in progress.

Authorities say officers quickly established a perimeter in the nearby Lincoln Park neighborhood and, with assistance from Wyomissing and Cumru Township police departments, located and arrested the suspect without incident.

Surveillance image released by Spring Township Police shows the alleged robber at the counter during the incident.

The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Omar Dickens of the 2000 block of North 30th Street in Philadelphia, was taken into custody shortly after the robbery. Police confirmed that all missing funds were recovered at the time of the arrest.

Dickens has been charged with Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Earlier in the investigation, Spring Township Police released a description of the suspect and surveillance images from the bank, asking residents in the area to check their home security cameras for potential sightings.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our post and kept an eye out for the suspect,” the department said in a social media update.

The case remains under investigation.
