A severe thunderstorm Friday morning caused a tree to uproot and fall onto a home in Exeter Township, resulting in two people being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident in the 4700 block of Oley Turnpike Road. Upon arrival, crews found the tree had struck the front of the house, causing moderate damage.

At the time of the incident, the home was occupied by an adult female and two children. According to the fire department, the adult and one child were taken to a local hospital by Life Lion EMS. A dog was also inside the home but was not injured and was safely relocated to another area of the residence.

Firefighters conducted a search of the property to confirm no additional occupants were inside and secured utilities to prevent further hazards. The home has been deemed uninhabitable due to the extent of the damage.

The incident occurred as strong storms moved through the area, bringing heavy rain and high winds that caused localized damage.
