Shoemakersville Berks County PA

Saturday, June 6 2026 from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM

In 1952, a special day was held to celebrate and entertain the children of Shoemakersville. Volunteers organized a parade, cooked and sold concessions and raised money for the community park. The Shoemakersville Children's Fair and Parade has continued to bring local and past residents as well as community neighbors together ever since. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a nostalgic day full of old-time fun!

Saturday, June 6, 2026, will mark the 75th Annual Children's Fair and Parade with the theme “Stars, Stripes & Shoey” to honor both local and national history. Parade begins at 10:00 am on 8th and Main Streets with Grand Marshall Kyle Lord of Keystone Military Families. Fair begins at 10:30 am and concludes at 2:00 pm with the traditional basket raffle.

The event is cash only, but prices are kid friendly. Activities include Face Painting, Sand Art, Petting Zoo from Muller Mountain Farm, and classic Dime Pitch. Standard fair food of hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey BBQ, fresh cut fries and homemade desserts await. Mr. Softee will also be there for a cool treat. Vince Rollins, Culture Shock Dance and other residents will provide stage entertainment as you peruse raffles items and take in the relaxed fun.

All proceeds benefit the Shoemakersville Recreation Board which runs a free summer program for local children that includes a weekly visit to the community pool. The Rec Board also sponsors annual events such as Trunk or Treat, the Holiday Decorating Contest and Christmas in July.
