Join us in celebrating one of the oldest traditions of PA German Easter egg decorating! The Berks History Center is thrilled to present a special scratch-carved egg workshop, guided by Museum Curator Amber Vroman. Discover the fascinating history behind this beautiful and enduring Easter custom and view remarkable historical examples from the BHC’s museum collection!
Participants will receive a set of six naturally dyed eggs (dyed with onion skins) and will be given step-by-step instructions on how to "scratch" their designs into the egg's surface. These beautifully crafted eggs are theirs to take home!
Tickets are $35 for BHC Members and $45 for Non-Members, which includes all materials and light refreshments. Please note that spaces for this event are limited.
Off-street parking is available in the BHC's parking lot, located at 160 Spring Street, Reading, PA 19601.
