Storm damage and flooding hit Berks County

Severe storms swept through Southeastern Berks County Tuesday afternoon, leaving behind damage and flooding across several communities.

In Union Township, fast-moving water flooded multiple sections of Route 724, making some areas temporarily impassable. Nearby, a tree fell onto a residence along Magnolia Drive. In Robeson Township, a tree came down across southbound I-176 near mile marker 4.7, briefly blocking traffic.

In Cumru Township, emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Philadelphia Avenue (Route 724) and Morgantown Road (Route 10) for traffic control after a tree came down on power lines, knocking out the traffic signals.
