A Flood Watch is in effect for Berks County Thursday from 2:00 PM to midnight, according to the National Weather Service. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
A stalling front combined with plenty of moist and unstable air can result in slow moving thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Localized heavy rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches is possible in the watch area.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
