At approximately 7:04 p.m., a 911 call was dispatched referencing a reported shooting near the Sunoco at 5th and Penn Avenue in West Reading. According to West Reading Police, the shooting did not occur in their borough. They confirmed that the individual injured in the incident was transported in a personal vehicle from the City of Reading and passed through the area of 5th and Penn en route to the hospital.

While initial dispatches suggested the possibility of a second victim, only one gunshot victim is confirmed at this time.
