Police seek video after overnight thefts from vehicles in Pennwood development

Police in Caernarvon Township are investigating a series of overnight thefts from vehicles in the Pennwood development after unknown individuals were seen opening car doors and taking personal property around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, at least two subjects were involved and appeared to be wearing white T-shirts.

Residents are asked to check Ring doorbells and other home surveillance systems for clear images of the individuals or a possible suspect vehicle and email any footage to ceberly@caernarvon.org. Anyone who discovers they are a victim should call 610-286-1012 and select option 2 to have an officer contact them.

Update: Police have announced that information received has lead to arrest's of two suspect's from Philadelphia, PA. Officer Christopher Dunlap developed information on two suspects and their U-Haul. This afternoon around 1:30 P.M. the U-Haul was observed at the Sheetz Store in Morgantown and the vehicle was put under surveillance. After the suspects returned the suspect's were detained and found to be in possession of stolen property from our earlier vehicles. Both suspects are currently being held pending criminal charges at the Berks County Sheriffs Central Processing Center. The U-Haul was impounded pending a search warrant to be issued. Upon receipt of search warrant the vehicle was searched and Officer's located numerous other items that we feel were stolen during the overnight hours. Also recovered was a stolen firearm from Delaware County, PA. We are asking the residents to check their Ring Camera's and home security camera's for any footage of the U-Haul during the overnight hours. If you have any footage you can email it to Det. Sgt. Chad Eberly. Also if you have been a victim of your car being entered during the overnight please make sure you report it to the Caernarvon Township Police Department.
