A City of Reading fire engine was involved in a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of South 6th and Cherry streets.
According to initial radio reports, the Reading Engine 1 was struck in the intersection around 2:30 p.m. The crew reported they had a green light at the time of the crash.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and one person was transported to the hospital. The identity and condition of that individual have not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
