Emergency crews responded just after noon Friday for a large tree that fell onto garages and vehicles behind an apartment at 1541 Perkiomen Avenue in Reading. According to first responders, the fallen tree is also blocking the rear stairwell, which serves as the only exit for residents in the affected apartment.
Multiple utility lines are reported down, and city code officials have been called to the scene. The cable company has also been notified.
