A routine traffic stop in Bethel Township led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and the arrest of a Lebanon man on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Around 1:10 p.m., a Bethel Township Police officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the area of Four Point Road and Old Route 22 which showed the registered owner to have a suspended driver’s license. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Luis Roman Berrocalés of Lebanon, was confirmed to be the vehicle’s owner.
During the investigation, officers discovered Berrocalés was in possession of a Taurus G3c 9mm semi-automatic handgun that had been reported stolen in Lebanon County in April.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Berks County Central Processing, where he was turned over to the Berks County Sheriff’s Office. Berrocalés remains in custody pending arraignment on multiple charges, including second-degree felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor carrying a firearm without a license, and summary driving with a suspended license. He is also being held on a probation violation detainer from Lebanon County.
The investigation is ongoing.
