Jose Pizarro was convicted of 1st Degree Murder

Jose Pizarro was convicted by a jury last night of 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possessing an Instrument of Crime, after a three-day trial. On October 16, 2022, Pizarro shot and killed Antonio Dennard in a parking lot on 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township. Pizarro then fled to New York, where he was eventually captured by US Marshals and returned to Berks County to stand trial. Pizarro remains incarcerated pending sentencing, scheduled for July. He is facing a mandatory sentence of Life in Prison. The case was investigated by Muhlenberg Township Detective James Waits and Berks County Detective Michael Perkins, and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jordan Fegley.
