At approximately 9:30am on March 4, 2025, Northern Berks Regional Police Department officers were alerted by Schuylkill Valley Middle School personnel that a male student had communicated a bomb threat to other students who then reported it to a teacher.
The Schulkill Valley Middle School began their initial lock-down procedure, followed by an evacuation of the Middle School. Officers from NBRPD, and Muhlenberg Township responded as well as K9 Officers from the Lower Heidelberg Police Department, Reading Police Department, and the Berks County Sheriff's Office.
No indications of an explosive device were located after a thorough sweep, and the students were allowed to come back to the Middle School. The communication of the threat is currently being investigated with the assistance of the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
