Firefighters extinguish porch fire in Kenhorst

Firefighters in Kenhorst responded to a structure fire Sunday, June 23, 2024 at a residence in the 1500 block of Courtland Ave. Initially reported as a porch fire, crews arrived to find a large tree stump and the porch of the single story house on fire. Firefighters from Wyomissing, West Reading and Shillington also responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished quickly after firefighters arrived on scene. No injuries were initially reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
