The Reading Fire Department’s September 11th Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 9am, to commemorate the 23rd Anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and at Somerset, Pennsylvania.
The service will be held at the September 11th Memorial Tree in City Park. The service will honor all victims who perished in the attacks, but as a fire department, they will specifically focus on the 343 New York City fire-fighters who attempted to change the dreaded outcome of the day’s activities but were ultimately killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers
Location: September 11th Memorial Tree at City Park near Constitution Boulevard and Hill Road *In the event of inclement weather, the memorial service will be moved indoors to City Hall Council Chambers.
